Background
AOK is a dynamic team of events managers, hospitality professionals and venue finders who provide services for some of the largest brands in the world, from LinkedIn and Microsoft to Karen Millen and ITV.
AOK recently engaged ODI to design and fit-out their new office building in South London.
Project Scope
Initially, to transform an unusual and asymmetrical South London office building into modern, smart offices that would allow the team to work collaboratively to drive company growth. In order to allow the company to invest in its core business, the budget needed to be kept on a tight rein. The scope was revised following the acquisition (during the planning stage) of another business, Cavendish. In order to save AOK a substantial cost for financial dilapidations on the Cavendish premises, to also carry out the dilapidations works to make good the old premises to the Landlord’s satisfaction as a side project and incorporate Cavendish staff into the designs.

Process
Our design retained and adapted useful structural features but opened up much of the office space to allow for open plan working. Durable and clean fixtures and fittings gave a comfortable and light feel in a relatively small space and a second floor roof space was decked to provide outside breakout space in the summer months. The clean colour scheme allowed for dressing the space with brand signage and promotional materials.
